Ice Apostles


Mine entrance, near Salina, Colorado.
Ice stalagmites form at entrance to abandoned mine. "Warm" air from within the earth meets frigid, below zero, atmospheric air causing condensation on the cave ceiling which drips into these 2-3 foot "ice forms." 
I had a brief audience with the forest nymphs there and I'm glad to report they were quite content though a bit chilled.
