Eight Bar Ranch View

Eight am, the view from the calving shed; 8 Bar Ranch, Burns, Colorado. Looking down into a canyon of the Colorado River. Occasionally a BNSF freight will wind its way along the river a thousand feet below, loaded with coal for points eastward. From up here we only hear the dull murmur of the diesel engines, then it is silent again- save for that chatty magpie; "Who are you and why are you here?"
